About Our Products

In all of our products we use only quality beads and findings. We source them from many suppliers in a number of different countries. Types of beads and findings we use in our jewellery include:

Crystal and Glass
Our crystal and glass beads include Austrian precision cut Swarovski crystal and pearls, handmade lampwork glass beads from Venice and Murano, Czech crystal and glass (precision cut and handmade), Chinese crackle glass and hand-decorated cloisonne beads.

Acrylic and Lucite
We use vintage lucite beads from Italy and hand decorated acrylic tensha beads from Japan.

Semi-Precious Gemstones
There is a 'world' of gemstones to choose from! We have included a range of different natural stones and colours sourced from a number of countries and are regularly adding more. Since the gemstones are natural and are hand cut and polished, the beads will vary slightly.

Metal Beads and Findings
Most of the manufactured sterling silver and sterling silver filled earring findings are made in the USA, with some manufactured in Australia.

Unique Handcrafted Beads
Many of our earrings feature beads that have been individually made by talented artisans. Because of their handcrafted nature, each bead is unique and therefore there may be some very slight variation between beads.

Balinese Handcrafted Findings
The Balinese silversmiths are world renowned for their wonderful and unique designs in working with metals used in jewellery making. They mainly work with sterling silver and gold vermeil in handcrafting their earring findings such as beads, bead caps, chandeliers and ear wires. Much of their handcrafted sterling silver has been antiqued and looks fantastic with the beautiful precision cut Swarovski crystal.

Vintage Antiqued Brass Bead Caps

Many of the earrings in our collections feature antiqued bead caps that are still made from the original dies inspired by the Victorian period and created in the late 1800's. Some of the bead caps have been produced from dies that were created as many as 110 years ago. These include some wonderful filigree bead caps.

Product Photos
For each item in the store we show from two to five photos. Since it is important to know exactly what you are buying, we have tried to show as much detail as we can. You will see close-up photos of the main beads, bead caps, ear wires and other findings used in the earrings, as well as what the earrings look like in a hanging position. We have also often photographed the earrings on different coloured backgrounds to try to convey the colour more accurately. Colours may vary slightly on different monitors.

Product Comparison
In each of the Collections you can compare up to 4 different products by clicking in the empty box next to the word COMPARE. When you are ready to compare your selections, simply click COMPARE.

Options for Ear Wires
Some customers may have a preference for either hook ear wires or lever back ear wires. Where we are able to provide this choice, we have included an option box for you to choose which you would prefer.

Bead Glossary
To assist in understanding the bead/earring terms used throughout our website, we have provided a very basic explanation of most of the terms used. These explanations are by no means comprehensive! Most have been sourced from our suppliers and Wikipedia.

Gift Wrapping
We are very happy to gift wrap any of our products for you – this will include the box for the product, a small card with some information about the product, handmade wrapping paper in subtle colouring that will tone with the product chosen, and an all-purpose card which is blank inside (with envelope) for you to write a message on. There will be a small additional $2.00 charge for this service.
